CHICAGO — A Winter Weather Advisory was in effect for several Chicago area counties Monday, with a Wind Chill Advisory beginning at midnight.

DeKalb, Kane, DuPage, LaSalle, Kendall, Grundy, Cook, Will counties in Illinois; and Lake, Porter counties in Indiana are under a Winter Weather Advisory until 10 p.m. Monday.

DeKalb, Kane, Kendall, LaSalle, Lee and Ogle will be under a Wind Chill Advisory from midnight until 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Snow and blowing snow are creating hazardous travel conditions.

Snow totaling 1 to 3 inches is possible in the advisory counties with lower totals both north and south.

Snow ends later Monday night then clearing, turning a bit breezy and bitterly cold. Lows are expected to be around 0 in the city but as cold as 8 to 13-below colder inland locations. Wind chills could reach 8-below to 18-below by morning.
