MOUNT PROSPECT, Ill. (WGN) — Two people were shot in northwest suburban Mount Prospect Monday evening, according to local police.
The Mount Prospect Police Department (MPPD) said two people were shot at Meadows Condominiums, a residential building in the 1200 block of West Northwest Highway.
Police said the shooting appears to be domestic related and happened in the enclosed shared garage of the condominium.
According to MPPD, a 63-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man were shot and taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. The woman was conscious and speaking with detectives and the man is in critical condition at this time.
No other injuries were reported.
MPPD said the scene is secure and there is no threat to the surrounding community.
