JUSTICE, Ill. — A pothole has shut down two lanes of I-294 in the Southwest Suburbs and several vehicles have tire blowouts.
Authorities responded to I-294, near 83rd Street, just after 8:55 a.m. on the report of a large pothole.
The right northbound lanes are expected to be closed for several hours, according to Illinois State Police.
The pothole is approximately eight feet by three feet, police said. SkyCam9 over the scene shows that workers have been filling it in.
Several vehicles are near the shoulder with tire blowouts. Illinois State Police said around 30 were affected.
